Who Is Miss Chen?
Born between two worlds,
shaped by both
Miss Chen β Izzy β is the eldest grandchild of the Chen family, a lineage rooted in Singaporean and Malaysian heritage. Born in the United States and raised in Canada, she grew up learning that food is the thread that ties cultures together.
Her deep love for Nonya desserts traces back to her grandmothers, who carried time-honoured recipes from Southeast Asia and shared them freely β always in a kitchen full of warmth and laughter.
"Sharing food is a way of preserving my unique culture."

Her Story
Raised in kitchens,
cooking with love
From the moment she could eat solid food, Izzy's palate was being shaped β by bold flavours, fragrant spices, and the kind of cooking that doesn't just feed but connects. By the time she could walk, she was already a fixture in the kitchen, playing sous chef in her little apron.
Her father, Chef Alex Chen, taught her that food isn't about survival β it's about sharing, bringing people together around one table, over something made with care.
When the world slowed down during COVID, the kitchen sped up. Father and daughter filled their first jars, tied on their aprons, and Miss Chen Kaya was born. Izzy hasn't stopped stirring since.
"He cooks to share and to unite. That's the foundation of everything I do."
